Carbon Fiber Sheet can be classified into different types based on the grain. For example, depending on the weave, there are plain, twill, and honeycomb weaves.

Plain weave carbon fiber sheet uses a 1x1 top/bottom weave pattern. Because the yarns are more interwoven in the plain weave, it is more stable and easier to handle than a twill weave.
Twill weave is typically provided in a 2x2 or 4x4 top/bottom weave pattern. Twill weaves are more aesthetically pleasing and visually impactful, making them the preferred choice for most companies. However, twill weaves have fewer stress points than plain weaves and are more difficult to process.
Honeycomb carbon fiber sheet uses carbon fibers woven into a honeycomb pattern within a honeycomb weave. It is well-suited for covering large surfaces and creating attractive decorative effects. However, the overall stability of the honeycomb structure is uneven, with localized oversizing and undersizing often occurring, leading to its limited use.

After prepreg molding, carbon fiber panels are typically classified into various types, including single-sheet carbon fiber panels and sandwich panels.
1. Single-sheet: Single-sheet carbon fiber panels are bonded to the outside of another material. Their primary purpose is to enhance the product's appearance and overall color and texture.
2. Solid-sheet: Carbon fiber prepreg is laminated and thickened through a strategically placed stack, then cured under high temperature and pressure. This is the most commonly used production method for carbon fiber panels, offering superior performance.
3. Sandwich panel: Carbon fiber sandwich panels are made from various core materials and are a cross between single-sheet and fixed-sheet panels. They maintain the performance requirements of carbon fiber while optimizing weight. Carbon fiber sandwich panels offer improved sound and thermal insulation.
Thus, there are quite a few different types of carbon fiber panels, which are largely influenced by the overall material properties and processing of the carbon fiber panels.
